Research director Viktor Marsai said about the crisis in Mali that the state of Mali collapsed in 2012, essentially as the consequence of an ethnic uprising, on which jihadist groups had been built. Since then, Mali has infected several neighbouring states with the crisis. Jihadist groups are strong in the country, without their suppression it is inconceivable to close illegal migration routes or repatriate refugees.
