The recurrence of demonstrations and clashes suggests that Islamist terrorism is being replaced by protests, which are the most obvious means for non-European countries to influence European politics. The purpose of interfering in the domestic politics of European countries is more effectively served by mass demonstrations, as they use the tools of liberal democracies, by utilizing the absolutization of freedoms they strike on the enemy on their own playing field.
