The coronavirus and Afghanistan

The coronavirus epidemic has worsened the situation in Afghanistan, the unemployment was very high even before the outbreak due to the long-running civil war. There are no transit zones on the border of Afghanistan, therefore no medical examinations had been carried out on guest workers and illegal immigrants coming through there, which constitutes a serious problem. Total curfew has been introduced in the country, however it is not obeyed by the population and at many places the chaos is complete – said Blanka Kovács, research assistant of Migration Research Institute on M1 TV channel.
