It is in the interest of the European Union to maintain a good cooperation with Turkey, which currently hosts the largest number of refugees in the world. The review of the 2016 Statement on Migration and Asylum is on the agenda. However, this will not be an easy task, given the geopolitical tensions between Turkey and some EU Member States and the growing dissatisfaction of Turkish citizens with the presence of refugees in Turkey, which puts pressure on the Turkish political leadership, said Nikolett Pénzváltó, researcher of the Migration Research Institute, on M1 TV.
