Szabolcs Janik, deputy director of the MRI told Karc FM that the V4 countries are now trying to act in a common position on several foreign policy issues. A recent example is Egypt, where the issue of migration has been raised, but the four governments are also becoming increasingly active with Turkey. Where this is not possible because of diverging strategic considerations and national interests (e.g. vis-à-vis Russia), they use bilateral diplomacy and foreign policy-making tools separately – and of course, in the process, they also seek to shape EU foreign policy.
